Patrick Ip

Patrick is a digital pioneer, entrepreneur and coffee connoisseur. He’s passionate about the intersection of social media and social good. Most recently, Patrick started Kip Solutions, a social media-consulting firm for social causes, which was acquired in February 2013 by New York based firm Post+Beam. Now, Patrick spends his time helping companies create a deeper social impact through social media and serves on variety of global advisory boards (and making handcrafted coffee).

Patrick previously worked at the United Nations, serving as Executive Director for UNAI ASPIRE. At the United Nations, Patrick created the first ever public program and youth event at the 63rd Annual UN DPI/NGO Conference and worked with over 700 Universities in creating projects to change the world. In 2009, Patrick was elected one of the youngest California politicians in history serving as an Assembly District Delegate.

Patrick Ip has been featured on Forbes, Inc. Magazine, ABC, CBS, Star News Australia and many others. Patrick's start-up, Kip Solutions has been recognized as one of the Top 50 Most Innovative College Student-Run Comapnies by the Kairos Society and Inc. Magazine's Coolest College Start-ups 2012.

Patrick is a fourth year Political Science Major at the University of Chicago and has studied Social Science in Science-Po in Paris. In addition, he holds a degree in espresso preparation from the University of New South Wales in Australia and specialized in Syphon preparation at the Sensory Lab.

In digital media, Patrick serves on the Wolfsonian-FIU Digital Media Strategy Group with Richard Wurman, Founder of TED, Aaron Koblin, Creative Director at Google, Joi Ito, Director of the MIT Media Lab and many others. In social impact, Patrick serves on the global advisory board for the James L. Foundation, where he advises the Executive Director on creating positive social change for young global leaders, as well as Khmer Enterprises, where he helps to foster an entrepreneurial ecosystem in Cambodia.
